Role Overview
The Associate Engineer collaborates with other engineers to deliver technical solutions aligned with the product line requirements of the division. The role involves supporting engineering design activities and contributing to the development of electrical systems used in diesel generator sets.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of electrical designs for diesel gensets while working alongside senior engineers.
- Create concepts and models for electrical subsystems used in gensets.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure proper detailing, documentation releases, and other development activities.
- Review technical requirements and contribute to solving engineering challenges.
- Work with cross functional teams to help deliver engineering solutions for global Caterpillar products.
Technical Expectations
- Support the design and development of electrical systems including genset control panel design.
- Assist with component selection and placement, wiring harness development, and electrical schematic creation.
- Participate in engineering processes such as drawing releases and design reviews.
- Exposure to tools and processes such as CREO, Teamcenter, DFMEA, and RCA is beneficial.
- Experience with diesel or gas gensets, or similar automotive or machine products including design, testing, or certification is considered an advantage.
