Software Engineer
The Role
AMD is seeking a specialized software engineer to join a growing engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate with highly skilled professionals and work closely with modern hardware and software technologies. As a contributor to a core team, you will help strengthen AMD’s ability to deliver reliable, industry leading solutions to market.
The Person
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about software development and has a solid understanding of hardware fundamentals. The role requires the ability to resolve complex technical challenges while collaborating with teams across the organization. Strong communication and coordination with cross functional groups are important for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain bootloaders, security libraries, and related drivers.
- Track trends and advancements in both software and hardware technologies.
- Design and implement new AMD technologies.
- Support bring up activities for new SoC and ASIC hardware.
- Investigate and resolve existing issues while exploring more efficient implementation approaches.
- Build strong technical relationships with internal peers and external partners.
Preferred Experience
- Proficiency in C and Python.
- Understanding of ARM architecture and ARM based SoCs.
- Ability to produce high quality, detail oriented code.
- Experience working with Windows, Linux, or RTOS environments.
- Exposure to bootloader or driver development for hardware crypto accelerators is a plus.
- Experience developing safety or security certified software is beneficial.
Academic Credentials
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
