Software Development Engineer I

Key Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional Amazon teams to conceptualize, design, and launch new products and services.
- Design and develop technologies in a large distributed computing environment.
- Create solutions that run predictive workloads on distributed systems using innovative technologies at large scale.
- Develop distributed storage, indexing, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, cost efficient, and easy to operate.
- Design and implement solutions starting from broadly defined problems.
- Work in an agile development environment to deliver high quality software.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of computer science fundamentals including object oriented design, algorithms, data structures, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java, or Perl.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous technical internship experience.
- Exposure to distributed or multi tier systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
- Knowledge of optimization techniques including linear or nonlinear optimization.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical challenges and solutions.
- Comfort working with ambiguous problems and thinking abstractly when designing solutions.
