Overview
Intern – Integration, Test and Analytics
An internship opportunity is available with Airbus India in Bengaluru within the Integration and Flight Test Analysis department. The team is responsible for integration and flight test activities across aerospace systems.
This internship is planned as a 6‑month program, expected to start around June 2026, with some flexibility on the start date. Interns will work alongside engineers on software tools, simulation activities, and system testing tasks that support aircraft integration and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Tool Development and Coding: Support the design and maintenance of software tools, primarily using Python, to parse data, automate workflows, and connect various aerospace systems.
- Simulation and Data Replay: Assist with integrating flight data into simulation environments, such as transforming CSV data for 3D replay, helping teams analyze incidents and visualize system behavior.
- Test Execution and Analysis: Run system-level tests on integration benches or simulators, evaluate results to identify anomalies, and document findings with guidance from senior engineers.
- Innovation and AI Exploration: Contribute to initiatives that explore Machine Learning and Generative AI concepts aimed at reducing manual testing efforts and improving predictive analysis.
Learning Outcomes
- Software and AI Development: Gain hands-on experience with Python, software architecture, and the application of Machine Learning and Generative AI techniques for workflow automation and industrial optimization.
- Aerospace Domain Knowledge: Develop an understanding of aircraft subsystems such as flight controls, avionics, and navigation, along with flight data analysis.
- Simulation and Data Engineering: Work with flight data recorder inputs and transform them into simulation replays, including data mapping and interaction with simulator environments.
- System Verification and Automation: Learn the engineering testing lifecycle and support the transition from manual test procedures to automated testing frameworks for complex systems.
Technical Exposure
- Object-oriented programming concepts with strong proficiency in Python.
- Familiarity with languages such as C, C++, or C# is beneficial.
- Basic handling of data formats including CSV, JSON, and XML for data processing and mapping.
- Foundational knowledge of Machine Learning, Computer Vision such as OCR, or Generative AI concepts.
- Understanding of the software testing lifecycle or system verification processes.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git and standard engineering documentation practices.
