Job Description
Analysis of Aircraft Structures
- Examine different types of non‑conformance that may occur during aircraft manufacturing and assembly.
- Provide justification for repair solutions for non‑conformances considering static and fatigue factors.
- Determine the root cause of damage affecting various aircraft components.
- Validate the structural integrity of aircraft in accordance with airworthiness requirements.
- Support and justify Airbus inspection requirements.
During the apprenticeship, a tutor will guide you in defining professional goals and strengthening relevant technical capabilities.
Skills and Knowledge Development
- Understanding of basic design principles and interpretation of engineering drawings for parts and assemblies.
- Study of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
- Analysis of load paths and stress distribution.
- Exposure to static and fatigue analysis of primary structures and techniques to mitigate deviations from design.
- Knowledge of fatigue analysis methods including references such as Peterson’s manual and bolted joint analysis.
Structural Anomalies in Flying Fleet
- Approaches for structural integrity mitigation.
- Root cause analysis for in‑service findings.
- Understanding of airworthiness requirements.
- Preparation and handling of in‑service documentation.
Technical Knowledge
- Metals and composite materials
- Strength of materials fundamentals
- Shear Force Diagram (SFD) and Bending Moment Diagram (BMD)
- Basic static and fatigue analysis techniques
