Overview
Software Engineer Apprentice
Airbus India is offering a 12 month apprenticeship within the Engineering and PLM department in Bangalore. The program is designed to give graduates practical exposure to developing next generation solutions that support engineering teams. The apprenticeship is expected to begin around June 2026, with some flexibility on the start date.
Participants will work closely with experienced mentors and teams across the organization. The program provides hands on exposure to modern software technologies, collaborative work across global teams, and opportunities to develop industry relevant engineering skills.
Key Responsibilities
Apprentices may work either as a Software Engineer or contribute in a Business Analyst capacity depending on project needs.
Software Engineering Responsibilities
- Work with source code repositories to assemble and maintain software stacks for product requirements.
- Develop solutions to address defects and implement new functionality.
- Support migration of applications to updated tools or platforms as required.
- Follow established standards and architectural structures within the development environment.
- Create design specifications aligned with product architecture and technical guidelines.
Business Analysis Responsibilities
- Provide functional and process expertise related to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications.
- Support lifecycle management activities including requirements, documentation, integration, testing and acceptance during project deployments.
- Apply suitable processes, methods and tools based on the project size, complexity and context, including Agile practices such as Scrum or SAFe.
- Investigate and resolve incidents in collaboration with development and IT teams to maintain service quality.
- Manage functional support activities in accordance with agreed service levels.
Learning Outcomes
- Practical exposure to real world engineering projects and cross functional collaboration.
- Hands on experience in software development or business analysis depending on the chosen path.
- Experience working with distributed teams across different regions.
- Development of technical capabilities including full stack development using technologies such as Python or Java.
