Job Description
Key Deliverables
- Create, deliver, and standardize discrete event simulation models for existing and future manufacturing lines, plants, and final assembly lines (FALs).
- Define future processes and improved ways of working (WoW).
- Work with industrial engineers on simulation activities to balance production rates across processes, analyze material flow, determine buffer requirements, and improve overall factory throughput.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain discrete event simulation models.
- Define and specify the most appropriate ways of working for generating simulation models within Airbus.
- Create and maintain knowledge transfer solutions.
- Support key projects in coordination with simulation architects to ensure outcomes deliver measurable benefits and support sustainable long-term performance.
Knowledge & Skills
- Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience working on projects involving multifunctional or multicultural teams.
- Understanding of industrialization principles and production management.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production environments.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts such as value stream mapping and variance analysis using Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with discrete event simulation modeling tools such as Plant Simulation, AnyLogic, or similar DES platforms.
- Scientific programming exposure, including languages or tools such as SimTalk, Java, or Python.
- Ability to gather and prepare data required for simulation modeling.
- Data analytics knowledge is considered an advantage.
