Role Description
Airbus uses Data and Artificial Intelligence to improve efficiency and quality across its value chain. The apprenticeship within the Digital Makers team focuses on building reliable and scalable full stack applications with AI capabilities to address challenges in data analytics, computer vision, natural language processing, and operational research.
The selected candidate will gain practical exposure to the complete lifecycle of AI and data products while working closely with experienced engineers and data scientists.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and improving machine learning models for different applications.
- Work with datasets by cleaning, preprocessing, and transforming data for training and analysis.
- Apply advanced deep learning techniques to solve computer vision related problems.
- Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to optimize model performance and deploy models as endpoints or batch processes.
- Conduct experiments, evaluate results using open source datasets, and benchmark on Airbus data.
- Create visualizations and reports to communicate insights and findings.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of SQL and working with databases.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms including supervised and unsupervised methods and deep learning.
- Experience or familiarity with libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Version control experience using Git or GitHub.
- Understanding of state of the art techniques in computer vision.
- Data exploration including cleaning, preprocessing, and transforming large datasets.
- Ability to extract insights from structured and unstructured data using statistical and analytical techniques.
Additional Knowledge (Preferred)
- Exposure to React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), and Python for application development.
- Basic front end development knowledge with HTML5 and CSS3.
- Familiarity with web frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
- Interest in cloud technologies including AWS or GCP.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of Generative AI concepts such as large language models and prompt engineering.
- Basics of DevOps tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with TypeScript or state management libraries like Redux or Zustand.
- Project work or academic contributions related to computer vision or AI.
