Intern - Data Engineering

Airbus is seeking a Data Engineering Intern to join its team in Bangalore, India. The intern will assist in building and maintaining data processing pipelines and contribute to the development of basic web APIs. This hands-on role allows students to apply programming knowledge to real-world problems while gaining practical technical experience.

Required Skills

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Good understanding of programming fundamentals in at least one programming language.
• Experience working with data manipulation libraries such as Pandas.
• Understanding of data structures, particularly DataFrames.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and working with databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate within a team environment.

Good to Have

• Exposure to Node.js for developing web APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud concepts, especially AWS.
• Basic understanding of serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and data exchange formats like JSON.
• Experience using version control systems such as Git.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and maintaining data processing pipelines for the A220 DMU project.
• Extract data from different sources and load it into target systems.
• Support development of simple web APIs using Node.js and AWS Lambda so data can be accessed by other applications.
• Work with senior engineers and team members to understand requirements and troubleshoot issues.
• Document code and processes to maintain clarity and support maintainability.
• Learn and apply standard practices used in software development and data engineering.
• Be available to work in European shift hours when required (up to 10:30 PM IST in summer and 11:30 PM IST in winter).
