Job Description

An apprenticeship opportunity for the role of Apprentice - Security Engineer is available at Airbus India in Bangalore. The position is part of the Cyber Security department, supporting the digital cybersecurity initiatives across Airbus infrastructure.

This program is designed as a 12 month apprenticeship expected to begin in May 2026. During the program, the apprentice will work alongside cybersecurity specialists while gaining practical exposure to modern security technologies and research activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Security Innovation and Research: Contribute to research initiatives that explore next generation cyber defense approaches, including the evaluation of emerging security trends and new technologies.
• Security Development: Assist in developing and automating security scripts, tools, and workflows to strengthen defense capabilities and improve security operations.
• Cloud and SOC Operations: Support monitoring of global infrastructure and help implement advanced security guardrails across multi cloud environments such as AWS and GCP.

Throughout the program, a dedicated tutor will guide the apprentice in defining professional goals and building technical skills in cybersecurity.

Learning Outcomes

• Advanced Cyber Defense: Gain exposure to detection engineering by converting threat intelligence into actionable security alerts.
• Cloud Security Exposure: Work with modern cloud security architectures including CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker), CSPM (Cloud Security Posture Management), and CNAPP (Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms).
• Research and Development Skills: Investigate complex IT vulnerabilities, perform root cause analysis, and prototype security solutions.
• Understand the integrated security lifecycle, from design and implementation to operational monitoring and defense.

Candidate Profile

The role is intended for fresh graduates with a technical undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline. Candidates should have no prior full time professional work experience, though internships or academic projects are acceptable.

Applicants should demonstrate foundational knowledge of SOC processes, the Cyber Kill Chain, and common attack techniques. Familiarity with Windows and Linux internals, cloud security concepts, and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell is expected. Awareness of tools and concepts related to SIEM, CASB, CNAPP, or CSPM is beneficial.

Fluent English communication is required. The role also requires a strong commitment to ethical practices and awareness of compliance considerations within cybersecurity operations.
