Internship: AI for In-Service Engineering

Airbus India in Bengaluru has opened an internship in the In-Service Engineering department. The role suits students who want hands-on experience that complements their degree and supports a future career.

The team is looking for a motivated Research Engineer to help advance Language Model capabilities. You will research and implement techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and other state-of-the-art methods to improve model performance. The role also involves fine-tuning models and building scalable AI systems.

The internship is planned for 6 months, ideally starting in January 2027, with some flexibility on the date.

Main Missions

• Research and implement RAG and other advanced techniques to improve Language Model capabilities.
• Prepare data for fine-tuning processes.
• Help set up and optimize the fine-tuning and quantization pipeline.
• Take part in training small transformer models, with attention to performance and efficiency.
• Contribute to building an internal orchestration framework for LLMs.
• Work with senior engineers to integrate LLM software components into the existing system architecture.
• Support the deployment and monitoring of models in production.
• Document processes, workflows, and findings so that knowledge is shared and results can be reproduced.
