Job Description
Airbus is an international reference in the aerospace sector. The Airbus Engineering Centre in Bengaluru has over 500 engineers working on fixed and rotary-wing aircraft programs. It has strong capabilities in structural analysis, loads, aerodynamics, avionics software design and testing, system simulation, digital mock-up and system installation.
Airbus products and services span the commercial aircraft, helicopter, defence, security and space segments. Teams draw on wide-ranging expertise and a strong focus on innovation to deliver them.
This is an ideally six-month internship starting in January 2027 (date subject to flexibility).
Title
Using Artificial Intelligence for building Digital Solutions and Enablers in transversal and transformation projects
Job Scope
You will work on AI applications within the digital solutions and enablers Airbus is building for global teams. You will develop and use existing models to speed up transformation and migration activities such as Oracle to Postgres, .NET migration, Microsoft decommissioning and the move to Google Suite.
Responsibilities
- Build and optimize Generative AI workflows using Python and LangChain.
- Lead and execute Microsoft platform decommissioning activities, including assessment, planning, migration and retirement of legacy systems, while keeping business disruption minimal and meeting compliance and security standards.
- Drive and support the .NET Sunset Program by assessing legacy applications, planning migration or decommissioning strategies, coordinating with cross-functional teams and ensuring a smooth move to modern technologies.
- Develop and refine prompt templates for effective interaction with LLMs.
- Integrate tools and agents within the LangChain ecosystem to handle real-world tasks.
- Implement RAG pipelines using vector databases to improve response quality.
- Work with architects to understand requirements and turn them into functional implementations.
- Collaborate with the AI/ML team to build interactive frontends using Streamlit or Gradio.
- Assist in deploying and testing models and services on GCP cloud infrastructure.
- Document work, share learnings and take part in brainstorming sessions.
- Take on any new activities that call for AI to complete them in an optimal way.
Must Have
- Strong hands-on experience with Python programming.
- Experience working with Generative AI workflows using LangChain.
- Familiarity with LangChain Prompt Templates and Agent tools.
- Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
- Experience with vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Chroma, Pinecone).
- Proficiency in Jupyter Notebooks for experimentation and prototyping.
- Experience on real-time projects with a proper project structure using IDEs such as VS Code or PyCharm.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration abilities.
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with Streamlit or Gradio for building AI frontends.
- Basic understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Exposure to APIs and tool integrations in AI applications.
- Previous project or coursework in LLM-based or NLP-driven applications.
