Apprentice - FTM
Airbus India is offering a 12‑month apprenticeship opportunity within the Fleet Technical Management (FTM) function in Bangalore. The role sits in the IISBI department under Customer Services, supporting airline customers in operating their Airbus fleets with strong levels of safety, reliability, and efficiency.
The program is expected to begin around July 2026 (date may be flexible). During this apprenticeship, you will work alongside experienced engineers and gain exposure to fleet technical management processes and engineering operations within the aviation industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the collection and notification of Airbus publications such as SB, VSB, TFU, AOT and OIT.
- Provide support in the overall Technical Publication Management process.
- Assist in preparing ARC and CMR documentation and help standardize related processes.
- Support the creation of Reliability Control Program reports by consolidating, cleaning, and validating data from sources such as Maintenance Information Systems (MIS), aircraft service records, and shop findings.
- Compile and organize data to support investigations involving pilot reports, maintenance reports, recurring defects, aircraft delays, cancellations, and operational events.
- Help define and maintain aircraft model configuration and customer aircraft configuration data using systems such as AMASIS (kardex) or AMOS configuration trees.
- Support preparation of technical documentation including engine or landing gear change packages, engine oil consumption reports, structural damage summaries, and dent and buckle mapping.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of improved processes, tools, and methods aimed at increasing operational efficiency.
Learning Outcomes
During the apprenticeship, you will gain exposure to the fleet technical management ecosystem, similar to airline engineering operations. The experience will also include working with technical publications, component or fleet reliability analysis, and aircraft configuration management.
