Role Overview

This position is designed as an onsite role, with employees primarily working from an HPE office. The engineer contributes to building software algorithms that structure, analyze, and leverage both structured and unstructured data for products and systems.

The role involves applying machine learning and statistical modeling techniques to improve system performance, data quality, and operational accuracy. Work may involve large scale computing frameworks, analytics platforms, and modeling environments.

The role focuses on developing and programming integrated algorithms that enable data driven systems and applications. Responsibilities include applying deep learning technologies and scaling machine learning models so systems can interpret, learn from, and respond to complex scenarios.

Engineers translate technical specifications into production code, test and debug solutions, document installation and maintenance procedures, and track performance metrics. Contributions help transform customer requirements and industry trends into AI and machine learning products and system improvements.

Management Level

This position handles assignments of limited scope using technical concepts gained through education, training, or early career experience. The engineer collaborates as part of a team, providing analysis and recommendations while exercising independent judgment within defined guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning and AI models including data preprocessing, feature engineering, algorithm selection, model training, and evaluation.
• Collect and analyze relevant datasets to train and validate ML models using statistical and data analysis techniques.
• Improve algorithm and model performance through hyperparameter tuning, experimentation, optimization methods, and dimensionality reduction techniques.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and domain specialists to integrate AI and ML solutions into products or systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation covering methodologies, code implementations, and experimental outcomes.
• Participate in design review sessions with engineering leadership to ensure solutions align with project goals and technical standards.
• Incorporate feedback from engineering managers or team leads during design and implementation phases.
• Attend regular stand up meetings to report progress, discuss technical challenges, and coordinate with team members.
• Prepare presentations and technical reports to clearly communicate results, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support analysis and reporting of data insights and help maintain business intelligence tools, dashboards, databases, or analytical systems when required.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

• Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
• Familiarity with machine learning libraries and frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Strong understanding of statistics, probability, linear algebra, calculus, and optimization techniques used in machine learning.
• Knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing.
• Ability to work with large datasets including data cleaning, preprocessing, and exploratory data analysis.
• Experience with SQL databases and data visualization tools such as Matplotlib or Tableau.
