Overview
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure and Operations
- Take part in the on-call rotation.
- Respond to production incidents and alerts as they occur.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and introduce preventive improvements.
- Design and maintain highly available, scalable infrastructure on AWS.
- Create automated failover and recovery mechanisms.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform or CloudFormation and follow Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Work hands-on with ECS, EKS, and Kubernetes environments.
- Handle OS patching and system upgrades.
Monitoring and Observability
- Configure and manage monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, NewRelic, and Splunk.
- Evaluate system performance metrics and identify optimization opportunities.
- Build dashboards, set alerts, and automate responses to system events where applicable.
Automation and Tooling
- Create automation tools and scripts using Python or Bash for operational tasks.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments.
- Develop self-service tooling for development teams.
- Automate repetitive operational activities to reduce manual effort.
Security and Compliance
- Apply security best practices across cloud infrastructure.
- Manage IAM roles, policies, and security groups.
- Ensure systems comply with Adobe security standards and internal policies.
- Participate in security reviews and vulnerability remediation efforts.
Collaboration and Documentation
- Collaborate with development teams and SRE engineers to improve application reliability.
- Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and operational procedures.
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, EKS, ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, MSK, and SageMaker.
- Understanding of cloud architecture patterns and best practices.
- Experience supporting multi-region and multi-availability zone deployments.
- Strong knowledge of Docker and container orchestration platforms.
- Understanding of container networking, storage, and security.
- Proficiency with infrastructure tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience using version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation practices.
- Strong scripting skills using Python or Bash.
- Experience working with automation frameworks and tools.
- Ability to write clear, maintainable, and well documented code.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and CDN.
- Knowledge of network security concepts such as firewalls and VPNs.
- Experience managing SSL/TLS certificates and encryption.
- Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Argo.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Chef.
- Understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures.
