Objective of the Internship #
DYSL-AI aims to foster innovation and scientific discovery in AI to support national defense forces and advance India’s position in intelligent systems research. This internship allows students to work on real-time projects of national significance under expert mentorship.
Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria) #
To be eligible for the DRDO internship, the candidate must:
- Be currently pursuing any of the following:
- B.E./B.Tech. (Final Year)
- M.Sc./M.Tech. (Ongoing)
- Have a minimum First Division (above 60%) in all previous semesters.
- Be enrolled in one of the following disciplines:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Machine Learning (ML)
- Data Science
- Computer Science & Engineering (or equivalent field)
Internship Benefits #
- Monthly Stipend: ₹5,000 (fixed)
- Total Stipend: ₹30,000 (paid in two equal installments)
- ₹15,000 after 3 months
- ₹15,000 after successful completion of 6 months

Selection Process #

Important Guidelines & Terms #
- No automatic job offer: Internship does not guarantee employment at DRDO.
- Confidentiality required: Interns must follow DRDO’s data and information security protocols. Disclosure of sensitive information may lead to legal consequences under the Official Secrets Act.
- Attendance & Leave:
- Regular attendance is mandatory.
- Only sick leave with a valid medical prescription is allowed.
- National holidays are observed as per the lab schedule.
- Lab Access: Interns will only access non-classified areas and information.
- Property Care: Interns must handle lab equipment responsibly. Any damage must be compensated.
- Publication Prohibition: Interns must not publish or share internship-related information in any form without permission.
- Extension Clause: Internship period may be extended up to a maximum of 6 months upon request, but no additional stipend is granted beyond 6 months.
