The Centre for Brain Research (CBR), located at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, invites applications for the CBRAIN Internship Program 2025. Overview of the Internship Program #
The CBRAIN Internship offers a rare opportunity to work alongside leading scientists in neuroscience and neurodegenerative diseases. Interns will participate in cutting-edge research on the aging brain, spanning molecular biology, cellular neuroscience, and neurophysiology. Internship Duration and Schedule #
- Duration: 3 months (Full-time)

Shorter durations are typically not entertained, though longer engagements may be considered for exceptional cases based on the intern’s performance and interest.
Monthly Stipend #
Each selected intern will receive a stipend of ₹20,000 per month for the duration of the internship. Please note:
- Travel and accommodation are not provided.
- Interns must independently arrange for housing and transportation in Bengaluru.
Eligibility Criteria #
To apply, candidates must meet the following academic criteria:
- Be in the pre-final or final year of:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc) or
- Master’s degree (M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related disciplines.
- Alternatively, students in the pre-final or final year of MBBS, MD, MS, MDS, MPH are also encouraged to apply.
- Applicants must study at a recognized institution within India.
Additional Criteria:
- A demonstrated interest in research on aging, brain sciences, or neurobiology is preferred.
- Must be self-motivated and able to commit full-time during the internship.
