Who Can Apply for DRDO LRDE JRF 2026?

To be eligible for the DRDO LRDE JRF position, you need to meet specific educational qualifications and age criteria. This fellowship is open to Indian nationals only.

Educational Qualification

You need one of the following:

• A graduate degree (BE / B Tech) in Electronics & Communication Engineering or equivalent, with a first division and a valid GATE Score from 2024, 2025, or 2026.
• A postgraduate degree (ME / M Tech) in Electronics & Communication Engineering or equivalent, with a first division at both graduate and postgraduate levels.

Equivalent acceptable subjects include Electronics Engg, Electronics & Communication Engg, Electronics & Telecommunication Engg, Electronics & Computer Engg, Electronics & Communication Technology, Electronics & Electrical Communication Engg, or any other relevant discipline mentioning “Electronics” as the main discipline.

Age Limit

Stipend and Tenure Details

Selected candidates will receive a fellowship stipend of ₹37,000 per month. This also includes admissible House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per government norms. This is a competitive stipend for a research fellowship in India.

The initial fellowship period is 2 years. It can be extended for up to a maximum of 4 years, following the provisions of the DRDO research fellows scheme. This provides a good opportunity for sustained research work.

6. Step 6: NOC (If Applicable) - If you are currently employed in a Government Department, Autonomous Body, or PSU, bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer.
