DRDO DMSRDE Internship 2026 Eligibility Criteria

This internship is open to final year undergraduate and postgraduate students in Engineering or Science. You must be an Indian citizen pursuing a full-time course in the relevant discipline from a recognized Indian University or Institute.

Stipend Details and Payment Structure

  3. Get Institution's Request Letter: Your Dean, HOD, Director, or Principal must send a request letter for your internship. This letter (pages 2-3 of the PDF) needs to be printed on college letterhead and signed by the Principal or Director with the official seal. It should confirm you are a bonafide student, mention your enrollment number, and state the college has no objection to you joining the internship.
  4. Complete Undertakings: Fill out and sign the undertakings regarding the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923, and IT Rules and Regulations (page 4 of the PDF).
  5. Gather Required Documents: Prepare scanned copies and hard copies of the following:
    • Completed application form (page 1 of PDF)
    • Request letter from your institution (pages 2-3 of PDF)
    • Undertaking of Indian Official Secret Act & IT, Rules and Regulations (page 4 of PDF)
    • High School Marksheet
    • All previous mark sheets for your current course (UG/PG)
    • Copy of Photo Identity Card issued by your Institute/University

  6. Email Application: Send an advance copy of your completed application form and all required documents to director.dmsrde@gov.in on or before September 28, 2026.
  7. Send Hard Copy: Mail the hard copies of all relevant documents by Speed Post or submit them by hand at the DMSRDE Main Gate. Clearly mention 'Application for Paid Internship' and your 'Branch Code' on top of the envelope. Send it to:

  • Bank details for stipend transfer
  • Original Aadhar Card and college ID card for verification
  • Three passport-size photographs
  • All previous semester mark sheets in original for verification, or a letter from the college certifying that original certificates are held with them.

Key Terms and Conditions

  • The internship duration is six months. A completion certificate is issued after you finish the six months, including project work evaluation and report submission.
  • DMSRDE/DRDO is not obligated to offer employment after the internship, and you cannot claim employment rights based on completing it.
  • DMSRDE does not provide accommodation; you are responsible for your own arrangements.
  • You must strictly follow the guidelines of the Establishment during the internship. Involvement in any disciplinary activities will lead to termination.
  • Carrying mobile phones, pen drives, portable hard disks, or laptops inside the DMSRDE campus is strictly prohibited.

  • You are responsible for handling equipment carefully and compensating DMSRDE for any damage.
  • You must not disclose or publish any confidential DRDO information on any platform. Failure to comply will result in action under the Official Secrets Act.
  • You must adhere to IT rules and regulations within DMSRDE during the internship.
  • You cannot be receiving payment for any other internship during this training period.
