Delhi University VC Internship Eligibility

The internship is strictly limited to students currently studying at the University of Delhi.

• Must be a bonafide full-time student of the University of Delhi
• Open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Students from any stream or course can apply
• Final year or final semester students are not eligible for the summer internship
• Applicants must obtain a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from their Principal or Head of Department

₹11,576/Month Stipend Details

Yes, the internship is paid.

Selected interns for the summer cycle receive a stipend of ₹11,576 per month for full-time work of about 20 hours per week. The internship duration cannot exceed two months from the joining date.

The funding comes from the University Student Welfare Fund. Apart from the stipend, interns who successfully complete the program receive an official internship certificate from the Dean of Students' Welfare.

Getting a paid internship inside your own university system is rare. And the certificate from DSW carries weight when you apply for research roles or campus placements later.

Documents Required for Delhi University VCIS Internship

The application is straightforward, but the documentation part trips up many students.

• University enrollment number
• Examination roll number
• Mobile number and email
• SGPA of the last semester
• Details of skills (Excel, Word, programming, writing etc.)
• Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from Principal / HOD

Quick heads-up: the LOR must be issued on official letterhead and signed on or after 13 April 2026. Forms without the recommendation letter will be rejected.

How to Apply for Delhi University VC Internship

Applications for the last cycle closed on 27 April 2026. The next cycle is expected around the same time next year.

For the previous cycle, the steps were:

1. Open the Application Form
   Go to the official VCIS internship application form.
2. Fill Personal and Academic Details
   Enter your name, university enrollment number, examination roll number, SGPA of the last semester, and contact details.
3. Select Your Skills
   The form asks about technical and soft skills such as MS Excel, MS Word, Canva, programming languages, creative writing, communication skills, and research ability.
4. Upload Letter of Recommendation
   Attach the LOR issued by your Principal or Head of Department on official letterhead.
5. Submit Before Deadline
   Applications for that cycle closed on 27 April 2026. Late submissions were not accepted.

After submission, shortlisted candidates were invited for a Group Discussion or interview. Final selections are announced by the Dean of Students' Welfare office.

How Selection Happens (Interview + LOR)

Selection is not purely form-based.

The university reviews applications and then calls shortlisted students for an interaction round. The selection committee usually includes:

• Proctor or Proctor nominee
• Two members nominated by the Vice Chancellor
• Joint Dean Students' Welfare

Your Letter of Recommendation and interview performance both matter. I've seen students underestimate the LOR, but it often makes a difference if the competition is high.

A few conditions apply to the VC Internship Scheme.

• Internship cannot exceed two months for the summer program
• Interns must complete assigned work to receive stipend and certificate
• Regular class attendance requirements remain unchanged
• The DSW office may modify internship provisions when required

Also, interns who fail to complete the assigned internship period or tasks may not receive the stipend or certificate.
