NISER Computer Science Internships and Dissertation Projects

The School of Computer Sciences at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, offered a Summer Internship Program and Long-term Dissertation Project Work. Applications for the 2025 cycle are now closed. This program offers undergraduate and postgraduate students research experience in Computer Science under NISER’s faculty.

Programs Offered

1. Summer Internship / Short-Term Project

• Duration: May 22, 2025 – July 21, 2025
• Objective: Offers hands-on research experience by assigning students a focused research problem in computer science. Work is conducted under the supervision of a NISER faculty member.
• Certificate: Issued upon successful completion of the project.

2. Long-Term / Dissertation Project Work

• Duration: July to December 2025 (up to 6 months)
• Objective: Suitable for postgraduate students looking to complete their academic dissertation/thesis work in the field of Computer Science.
• Certificate: Issued upon completion of the project.

Eligibility Criteria

• Who can apply: UG/PG students currently enrolled in Computer Science or related disciplines in recognized institutions or universities.
• Not eligible:
  • Students who have previously participated in this program at NISER.
  • Applications not endorsed by a faculty mentor (PI) with available seats.

Stipend and Fees

For Summer Internship:

• Stipend: ₹5,000/month (only for students not receiving financial support from any other agency).
• Travel Support: Second Class Sleeper train fare (to and fro) after successful completion.
• Accommodation: May be provided in hostels at ₹30/day (subject to availability).
• Program Fee: None.

For Long-Term Dissertation:

• Stipend: Not provided.
• Program Fee: ₹10,000 for the 6-month period (applicable only for students from private universities/institutions).
• Accommodation: Subject to availability and additional charges.

1. Prepare Required Documents:

   • Bonafide-cum-No Objection Certificate issued by your institute on official letterhead

Note: Maximum upload size per file is 10 MB. Ensure all files are properly scanned and clearly readable.

Bonafide & No-Objection Certificate Format

Your institution must certify:

• You are a bonafide student.
• The institute has no objection to your participation.
• The certificate must be signed by a competent authority (Dean/HoD/Registrar).

Key Guidelines and Conditions

• Data Rights: All research data generated belongs to NISER and cannot be reused without written permission.
• Discipline: Students are expected to follow campus rules and faculty instructions.
• Use of Resources: Students must bring their own laptops. Wi-Fi access may be provided strictly for academic use.
• Misuse or Misconduct: May lead to disciplinary or legal action by NISER.
• Email IDs: NISER email IDs will not be provided to selected candidates.
