Who Can Apply – Eligibility Criteria #
To be considered for the NITI Aayog Internship Scheme, applicants must fulfill one of the following academic categories:
Undergraduate Students
- Must have completed or appeared in the second year (4th semester) of their bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 85% marks in Class 12.
Postgraduate Students
- Should have completed or appeared in the first year (2nd semester) of their post-graduate course.
- Must have scored at least 70% in graduation.
Recent Graduates
- Students who have recently completed UG/PG courses and are awaiting admission for higher studies.
- Minimum 70% cumulative score in all semesters/years.
- Internship must be taken within six months of the declaration of final results.

Internship Duration and Commitment #
- Minimum Period: 6 weeks
- Maximum Period: 6 months
- Attendance Requirement: Minimum 75% mandatory
- Working Days: Monday to Friday
- Interns must submit an end-of-internship report/paper and log their daily attendance.
Application Process – How to Apply #
When to Apply
- Applications are accepted only online from 1st to 10th of every month.
- Apply up to 6 months in advance but not later than 2 months before the desired internship month.
How to Apply
- Visit the official NITI Aayog internship page.
- Fill out the online registration form carefully.
- Upload the required academic details and select one domain of interest.
- Submit your application before 11:59 PM on the 10th of the month.
- Note the registration number generated after submission.
Note: No printout or hardcopy submission is required.
Important Documents #
- Mark Sheets: Originals to be shown at the time of joining.
- NOC (No Objection Certificate): To be submitted from your college/university.

Selection Procedure #
- All applications are reviewed by heads of divisions/units within NITI Aayog.
- Each division can select up to three interns (extendable with CEO approval).
- Selected interns may be asked to submit the soft copy of their NOC prior to offer issuance.
- Final selection is based on eligibility, academic merit, and division requirements.
Certificate of Completion #
- Issued only after successful completion of the internship with at least 75% attendance.
- Includes evaluation of performance, punctuality, and the report submitted.
Internship Guidelines – Important Points to Remember #
- You can apply only once in a financial year.
- Make sure the data filled in the form is accurate.
- Conversion from CGPA to percentage is mandatory.
- Keep the same email ID active throughout the application process.
- No communication will be entertained regarding application corrections.
