The Data Engineering team at Akamai Technologies is part of our Cloud Technology Group, delivering innovative cloud and edge networking solutions. We design, implement, deploy, and operate high-performance data streaming platforms, enabling product teams to build secure, reliable, and agile solutions.
Role Overview
As a Software Engineer I, you will collaborate with software and platform engineers to enhance core services and create tools that ensure 100% uptime. Your work will directly contribute to the stability and efficiency of our data streaming services.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-on platform development, including coding, debugging, and testing
- Integrating, supporting, and improving data streaming services on the Akamai Platform
- Focusing on systems for collecting and analyzing performance metrics
- Conducting code and design reviews and maintaining documentation
- Designing and developing DevOps tools for seamless software delivery
- Creating processes and tools to monitor, analyze, and improve data pipelines
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Proficiency in SQL and at least two of the following: Golang, Python, C/C++, Rust
- Experience with distributed systems and Linux networking (TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, HTTP)
- Understanding of big data platforms such as Apache Pulsar, Apache Flink, or Apache Spark
- Skills in bash scripting and SQL
