Role Overview
The Software Engineer I develops secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions with guidance from mentors. The role contributes to building systems that support CME Group's global marketplace and help customers manage risk effectively.
Principal Accountabilities
- Perform coding tasks at a small component or task level, occasionally contributing to minor design work.
- Write and execute unit tests for developed code and review them with a mentor.
- Demonstrate foundational knowledge of programming languages while developing application modules and corresponding tests with guidance.
- Apply basic knowledge of SQL and database modeling concepts.
- Implement technical designs provided by managers or immediate supervisors.
- Improve and optimize code with supervision, incorporating feedback from previous code reviews.
- Assist with environment build deployments and resolve identified defects or issues.
Skills and Software Requirements
Basic understanding of SQL and the ability to perform simple database modeling.
