Role Description
smallcase is hiring an Analytics Intern to join its Central Analytics team. This team serves as a core function across all product lines and business verticals. Operating in a pod structure, the team ensures high-impact, focused analytical support for product and business decisions.
As an intern, you will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to derive actionable insights from data. You’ll work on feature instrumentation, reporting, automation, and dashboard creation to support product decisions and operational improvements.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers to define clickstream analytics instrumentation for new product features
- Validate data accuracy and completeness during the rollout of new features
- Track and analyze performance metrics and generate insight-driven reports
- Automate routine reports and build data pipelines using Python and scheduling tools like Airflow and Jupyter Notebooks
- Create dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Redash, or Amplitude
- Clean, collect, and analyze data from sources like product usage, marketing campaigns, and user behavior
- Work with engineers and analytics stakeholders to define and implement tracking requirements
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science)
- Basic proficiency in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets
- Interest or basic knowledge of Python/R and analytics platforms like Tableau, Google Analytics, Amplitude, or Mixpanel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or academic project in analytics or data science
- Exposure to AWS, clickstream analytics tools like Mixpanel or Amplitude
- Basic experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Education Requirement
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (completed or ongoing) in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Computer Science
