Job Description
Q2 is hiring an Associate Software Developer in Test to join our innovative team that builds secure, scalable digital banking platforms. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about software quality, automation, and building better financial experiences for users across the globe.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and project managers to understand project goals and requirements.
- Execute and maintain automated test cases; log and track defects with complete diagnostic details.
- Design, implement, and manage automation test scripts using modern frameworks.
- Develop and review Python unit tests and other automated scripts.
- Set up and manage test environments to support automation.
- Communicate test outcomes effectively and ensure understanding of exit criteria across teams.
- Provide accurate test effort estimations during release planning.
- Focus on both high-detail quality assurance and overall project delivery timelines.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and automation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in automation testing for both frontend and backend systems.
- Working knowledge of Python or Java programming.
- Experience in API testing (RESTful, SOAP).
- Proficiency with databases, SQL, and XML.
- Experience with automation tools such as Selenium (with Python or JavaScript).
- Strong skills in test case management and debugging complex web applications.
- Ability to work in agile teams with high collaboration and rapid iteration.
- Understanding of CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab pipelines is a plus.
- Familiarity with version control systems like GitLab or Bitbucket.
- Knowledge of defect tracking tools like JIRA.
- Experience with SaaS products is an added advantage.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours based on project needs.
