Python Software Engineer

Citi is hiring an Intermediate Python Software Engineer to join its application development team. The position focuses on backend development using Python and contributes to building and improving scalable backend systems. The role involves active participation in technical discussions and requires hands-on coding expertise.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and applications using Python
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code aligned with established best practices
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to solution design reviews
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing backend systems
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and high-quality solutions
• Learn and adapt to new tools, frameworks, and technologies as required

Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with Python scripting
• Good understanding of backend development concepts

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with SQL databases such as Oracle or Hive
• Working knowledge of Unix or Linux environments
• Exposure to ETL processes and data pipelines
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale systems and large data environments

Education
