Programmer Analyst at Citi Pune | 0-2 Yrs Software Role

The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level role. The position requires strong interest in building technical knowledge within the banking and payments application domain. Work may involve development related to customer demographics, debit card processing, checking and savings accounts, loans, payments, customer statements, and similar financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of application development procedures and related technical areas to identify and define required system enhancements.
• Analyze issues, propose recommendations, and implement appropriate technical solutions.
• Use understanding of business processes, system workflows, and industry standards to address complex problems.
• Evaluate information and make informed judgments to recommend improvements and solutions.
• Perform testing and debugging activities, use scripting tools, and write basic code based on design specifications.
• Assess relevant past experiences and evaluate options when situations are not fully covered by existing procedures.
• Develop working knowledge of Citi information systems, standards, client-server development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applications.
• Evaluate risks when making business decisions, ensuring protection of Citigroup, its clients, and assets while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of relevant experience in application development or related areas.
• Applications will operate within the IBM mainframe environment. Basic knowledge of at least one programming language such as COBOL or Java is required.
• Work closely with solution leads, senior application development analysts, and technical information security teams to convert designs into functional code.
• Responsibilities include understanding business requirements, supporting application design, considering security implications, managing user stories, and ensuring timely delivery of development, testing, and implementation tasks.
• Experience with programming and debugging used in business applications.
• Working knowledge of industry practices and development standards.
• Understanding of the relevant business domain for application development.
• Ability to work with programming languages used for enterprise applications.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university qualification, or comparable professional experience.
