Apprentice Full Stack Engineer
We are seeking a highly motivated and inquisitive Full Stack Engineer Apprentice/Intern to join our dynamic engineering team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for early-career developers who are passionate about creating modern web applications and eager to grow within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You will work closely with experienced engineers, contribute to actual product features, and gain practical experience in both frontend and backend development using relevant industry technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of web applications utilizing React.js for the frontend and Java for the backend.
- Produce clean, readable, and maintainable code using TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to implement new features and enhance existing functionalities.
- Integrate and consume REST APIs across both frontend and backend layers.
- Participate in code reviews, daily standups, and sprint planning sessions as part of an agile team.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across the entire stack under guidance.
- Write basic unit tests and contribute to improving overall code quality.
- Learn and adhere to team engineering standards, coding practices, and documentation norms.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree (currently pursuing or completed) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic hands-on experience or strong academic exposure to React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript development.
- A foundational understanding of frontend concepts, including components, state management, and responsive UI.
- Familiarity with at least one backend technology, such as Java or SpringBoot.
- An understanding of REST APIs and the communication mechanisms between frontend and backend systems.
- Basic knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
- Eagerness to learn, take ownership, and work collaboratively within a team setting.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to any relational or NoSQL database (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, even at a conceptual level.
- A basic understanding of microservices architecture or containerization (Docker).
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
