Primary Responsibilities

• Code medical records using ICD-10 and CPT with desired accuracy as per SLA.
• Know and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Recognize, interpret, and evaluate inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medical data, and appropriately alert or query the responsible party and supervisor.
• Meet quality and productivity standards and deadlines/turnaround times.
• Report a discharge disposition for all records as required and in accordance with CMS rules and regulations.
• For outpatient encounters, apply coding conventions and official coding guidelines approved by CPT rules established by the AMA, and any other official rules and guidelines.
• Assign the appropriate discharge physician in the system.
• Maintain minimum data standards for accuracy and productivity as per defined KRAs and client SLAs.
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies, and any directives (such as transfer or reassignment to different work locations, changes in teams or shifts, and other decisions arising from the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary, or rescind these policies in its absolute discretion.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate or Postgraduate in Life Sciences, Allied Medicine (BHMS, BAMS, BPT, Dental Grads, Pharmacist, Nursing).
• Certified coder - AAPC / AHIMA - CCS/CPC/CPC-H/CCS-P.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy/physiology, and pathophysiology.
• Understanding of interpreting medications and dosages.
• Proven good English communication.
