Security Engineer (L1)

NTT DATA is looking for a Security Engineer (L1) to provide professional remote technical support services by identifying and resolving technical incidents and operational issues. This entry-level role focuses on maintaining service quality, ensuring SLA compliance, and supporting clients through effective incident management.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle support requests according to defined procedures and processes.
• Use service assurance tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics, and generate reports.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents following agreed guidelines.
• Perform maintenance tasks and assist in updating knowledge articles for incident resolution.
• Monitor service delivery against SLAs and maintain accurate records.
• Analyse service records to identify required improvements and report corrective actions.
• Prioritise incidents, investigate root causes, and escalate unresolved issues when necessary.
• Provide service recovery support and close incidents as per procedures.
• Maintain accurate and secure configuration information for configuration items.
• Track and correct information related to assets and components using approved tools and processes.
• Investigate incidents remotely and assist with implementing remedies and preventative measures.
• Coordinate with team members, vendors, carriers, and client IT teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Update systems, portals, and ticketing tools with accurate incident information.
• Log incidents with the required level of detail and maintain operational documentation.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Basic understanding of security technologies including Firewall, IPS, IDS, and Proxy solutions.
• Knowledge of vendor technologies such as Cisco, Microsoft, ARC, Audio Codes, PeterConnect, and Sonus.
• Awareness of management agent concepts, redundancy concepts, and remote console architecture.
• Understanding of remote technical support and troubleshooting processes.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications

A degree or relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computing, or a related field is required. Associate-level certifications in security technologies such as CCNA, JNCIA, ACCA, PCNSA, or CCSA are preferred.

Experience

Entry-level experience in security technologies, remote technical support, troubleshooting, and incident diagnosis is preferred.
