About the Role

As a Software Development Engineer in the Network Automation team at Nokia, you will contribute to the design and development of next-generation network management and automation solutions tailored for carrier-grade IP networks. Your role will involve solving complex engineering challenges while working with modern technologies in a collaborative and agile environment.

This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore that combines the flexibility of remote work with the synergy of on-site collaboration.


Responsibilities

  • Design and develop innovative solutions to automate network management operations
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and stakeholders to refine and analyze technical requirements
  • Participate in system architecture discussions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code while following best engineering practices
  • Drive the adoption of modern tools, methodologies, and design patterns
  • Engage in cross-functional agile teams and contribute to product feature discussions
  • Work on high-impact projects that shape the future of automated network infrastructure

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency in programming and debugging with Java or Golang
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Good understanding of microservices architecture
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to network management systems and related protocols such as GNMI, NETCONF/YANG, RESTCONF, and SNMP
  • Familiarity with large-scale distributed systems and automation workflows
