What you'll do
You will work as part of a feature team to develop software, scripts, and tools while collaborating with engineers, architects, and business analysts across the platform.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing complex and critical software solutions quickly while maintaining high quality that supports business value.
- Working in long-standing teams responsible for the entire lifecycle, from initial development through enhancements, maintenance, and eventual replacement or decommissioning.
- Collaborating with colleagues to strengthen and improve software engineering capabilities.
- Designing, building, testing, and implementing working software solutions.
- Participating across the full lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and operational support.
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you should have a background in software engineering, software design, and architecture, along with an understanding of how your technical area supports customer needs.
Additional requirements include:
- Experience using development and testing tools, bug tracking systems, and documentation platforms such as wikis.
- Familiarity with multiple programming languages or low code development tools.
- Experience working with DevOps practices, Agile methodologies, and related toolsets.
- Ability to solve complex analytical and numerical problems.
- Experience applying programming best practices related to scalability, automation, virtualisation, optimisation, availability, and performance.
