About the Role

This position is a software engineering role focused on automation testing and quality engineering. The engineer works within a software development pod to ensure the quality and reliability of code delivery.

Responsibilities include writing automation test cases, developing in-sprint unit test code, and maintaining regression test suites. The role also involves learning and adapting to testing frameworks and tools used for validating frontend UI functionality as well as backend, BFF, and API components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review code quality and development reports to ensure engineering best practices are followed.
  • Develop and monitor quality gating and automation strategies, including coverage for API and UI functionality.
  • Apply knowledge of programming, architecture patterns, tools, and behavior driven development.
  • Support performance and scalability requirements for applications and platforms.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure strong test coverage, configuration quality, monitoring, and early performance validation.
  • Create frameworks and configurations and review analysis to confirm adherence to quality standards.
  • Contribute to test strategies, testing activities, and automation initiatives.
  • Develop and execute test plans for applications, generate required test data, and identify environment preparation needs.
  • Participate in project reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections including review of test plans, requirements, and automation cases.
  • Identify process improvements, implement automation initiatives, and document automated testing solutions.
  • Design and implement automated test solutions for user journeys in collaboration with test and development teams.
  • Provide technical support to junior team members and assist with smaller project initiatives when required.
  • Evaluate manual testing tools and identify opportunities for automation.

Candidate Profile

  • Engineering or Science graduate.
  • Internship or brief experience in a professional environment is beneficial.
  • Understanding of engineering principles and coding standards.
  • Knowledge of quality engineering practices in software development and automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with agile testing methodologies, unit and integration testing, and data virtualization tools.
