Machine Learning Scientist I at Lytx Bangalore | AI/ML Role

Role Overview

As a Machine Learning Scientist I, you will be part of Lytx's Applied Machine Learning team in India. The team develops machine learning and computer vision algorithms that monitor drivers and their surroundings to detect risk and improve road safety for customers.

You will contribute across the deep learning and machine learning lifecycle, including model development and deployment. The role focuses on improving model accuracy, performance, and latency to strengthen Lytx’s leadership in the video safety and telematics industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning and deep learning models end to end, including problem formulation, data engineering, prototyping, training, evaluation, and iteration.
• Implement, debug, and enhance deep learning models using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Optimize and deploy models for cloud and edge environments.
• Continuously refine models using large scale field data.
• Use GenAI tools and LLM APIs such as Claude to build internal and customer focused solutions.
• Create and improve prompt engineering workflows, RAG pipelines, and LLM powered applications, including AI agents for workflow automation.
• Communicate technical findings, insights, and trade offs to internal teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related field.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in machine learning or deep learning, including internships or academic projects.
• Hands on experience with at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Proficiency in Python with familiarity in C or C++.
• Strong understanding of mathematics, probability, statistics, and algorithms.
• Knowledge of core machine learning concepts such as supervised and unsupervised learning, model evaluation, and regularization.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with GenAI tools and LLM APIs such as Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini to build applications or automate workflows.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
• Exposure to model deployment tools or platforms such as ONNX, TensorRT, Docker, or cloud based ML platforms.
