Overview
The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate-level role that contributes to building and improving application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The position supports system analysis and software development activities while helping implement new or updated application solutions.
Responsibilities
- Use knowledge of application development concepts and procedures to identify and define required system enhancements.
- Analyze technical issues, recommend improvements, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Apply understanding of business processes, system operations, and industry standards to resolve complex problems.
- Evaluate information and provide recommendations that improve system functionality and efficiency.
- Perform testing and debugging, use scripting tools, and write code based on design specifications.
- Assess prior technical experiences and evaluate alternatives when situations fall outside documented procedures.
- Develop familiarity with Citi's information systems, development standards, client server architecture, database administration, network operations, systems administration, and data center processes.
- Assess risk when making business decisions and ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards while protecting Citi, its clients, and assets.
Qualifications
- 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with programming or debugging business applications.
- Understanding of common industry practices and development standards.
- Knowledge of application development within a specific business domain.
- Working familiarity with programming languages.
- Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal form.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
