Job Description
Intel's Imaging Tools Group within the Imaging and Camera Technologies organization develops advanced image processing tools for Intel platforms. As a Device Driver Validation Engineer, you will help ensure the reliability and quality of Linux and Chrome device drivers used in Intel camera IP and imaging solutions. Your work supports the delivery of high performance imaging capabilities across Intel platforms.
The role focuses on validating driver stacks, executing structured tests across operating systems, and collaborating with development teams to maintain high product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the device driver stack and related application features, then convert them into detailed validation and test procedures.
- Execute repeatable validation tests on new device driver stacks across multiple operating systems.
- Log, track, and document issues in reporting systems with clear descriptions that help developers reproduce and resolve problems.
- Work closely with development teams to design new tests and improve validation methods.
- Troubleshoot failures during validation and independently investigate technical issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma, BSc, BCA, BTech, or MTech in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Experience installing, configuring, and running device drivers and related applications across operating systems.
- Ability to develop device driver test cases supporting operating systems such as Linux and Chrome.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or shell scripting.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies and validation processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem investigation skills.
- Experience working with cross functional engineering teams.
- Interest in building reliable and high quality technology solutions.
The position is part of Intel's Silicon and Platform Engineering Group, which develops silicon and platform solutions that power current and next generation computing experiences.
