Role Summary
As a Software Engineer at HP, you will play a key role in streamlining and enhancing software development and deployment processes. This role bridges the gap between development and operations through the implementation of DevOps practices and automation solutions. You’ll support software delivery, infrastructure automation, and monitoring, while gaining hands-on experience in DevOps architecture and cloud operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, implementing, and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using modern tools to create reproducible and scalable environments for development, testing, and production.
- Learn to develop and maintain operational systems for administration, backups, disaster recovery, and performance/security monitoring.
- Support deployment automation, logging, and monitoring pipelines.
- Participate in release coordination, version management, and rollback planning.
- Assist in debugging and resolving production issues reported by monitoring systems or end-users.
- Understand and contribute to the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) process.
- Follow DevOps best practices as implemented by senior engineers.
- Document infrastructure setup, procedures, and best practices for team knowledge sharing.
- Identify tasks for automation and recommend scripting tools to reduce manual work.
- Keep current with DevOps trends, cloud technologies, and industry tools to improve processes and systems.
