Overview
Job Summary
This position supports financial management by analyzing, reporting, and reconciling financial and operational results. The role identifies and investigates variances against plans and provides recommendations to key stakeholders. It also participates in budgeting and forecasting activities while ensuring compliance with reporting standards and corporate policies.
The analyst contributes to priority projects and collaborates with internal teams to maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities
- Extract and analyze financial data, identify key financial drivers, and provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Perform financial analysis for specific functions or business units, addressing business issues and supporting strategic initiatives.
- Assist with monthly reviews of expenses and capital during budgeting and forecasting cycles, and analyze variances using operational insights.
- Interpret financial documents such as forecasts, budgets, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Develop an understanding of the organization's financial processes and gain knowledge of operational and business activities.
- Support financial close activities, analyze trends and variances, and develop forecasts aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting standards and maintain data accuracy in financial reporting.
- Apply foundational financial principles while supporting projects through research and data analysis, sharing updates on progress and challenges.
- Assist priority initiatives under guidance and share information with stakeholders through standardized reporting.
Education and Experience
A four year degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience or demonstrated competence. Candidates typically have 0 to 2 years of experience in financial management, internal audit, accounting, or related fields.
Preferred Certifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Financial Analyst (CFA)
