Overview
Job Summary
This role focuses on designing and improving the overall experience users have when interacting with a product, service, or system. It combines user centered design with engineering practices to create smooth and intuitive user experiences. The position analyzes user data and feedback to generate insights that guide design decisions, including creating user personas, journey maps, and user flows.
Responsibilities
- Analyze or design components of user experience solutions for products and services following established design principles and guidelines.
- Conduct testing and gather user experience data using recognized research methods, then document findings with standard metrics.
- Implement elements of user experience design plans, updates, specifications, and reusable components for both new and existing products.
- Convert concepts and requirements into personas, journey maps, storyboards, user flows, interactive prototypes, and user stories that support intuitive experiences.
- Collect and act on feedback from stakeholders, design validation sessions, and project reviews.
- Work with other UX team members to develop visual design artifacts used during discovery and definition phases.
- Simplify complex problems into practical design solutions grounded in research and user data.
- Build an understanding of internal and external development partners involved in UX design and implementation.
- Participate as part of project teams with other designers to deliver holistic user experience solutions for low to moderately complex products and services.
- Evaluate technical limitations and opportunities, adjusting design approaches where needed.
Education and Experience
A four year degree in Design, Human Factors Engineering, Social Sciences research, or a related discipline is recommended. Equivalent work experience or demonstrated capability may also be considered. Candidates typically have 0 to 2 years of experience in areas such as design principles, human factors engineering, social science research, or similar fields.
Preferred Certification
Certified User Experience Professional (CUXP).
