About the Role
Hinge Health is hiring Software Engineering Interns for its Bengaluru office. This 1-year internship is designed for university students majoring in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields. Interns will be placed on highly collaborative and cross-functional teams, working on iOS, Android, and Web applications that contribute to various domains of the Hinge Health platform.
Interns are fully integrated into the agile development lifecycle, participating in daily ceremonies and contributing meaningful production-ready code. The role includes building proof of concepts, contributing to minor features, extending APIs, resolving technical debt, supporting automation, and helping maintain live site operations.
Each intern receives personalized guidance through a dedicated manager and team mentors to grow technical capabilities and understand the company’s tech stack and processes.
Responsibilities
- Work on real production code and meaningful features during each sprint
- Develop, test, and deploy new functionality in cross-functional teams
- Participate in team discussions, standups, and sprint planning
- Contribute to back-end, front-end, and platform infrastructure development
- Learn and implement best practices in modern software engineering
- Assist in maintaining and improving existing services and site reliability
Basic Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or similar field
- Experience in multiple programming languages such as Python and TypeScript
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and distributed systems
- Exposure to large language models (LLMs), AI/ML concepts
- Knowledge of databases including SQL and NoSQL
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong academic background with coursework in data structures, algorithms, and databases
- Practical experience in front-end technologies including ReactJS, HTML, and CSS
- Hands-on back-end experience using Node.js or Python
- Involvement in hackathons, personal tech projects, or research
- Proficiency with development tools such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, and debugging utilities
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in team-based environments
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
