Position Overview
As a Graduate Trainee, you will work closely with the security engineering and threat intelligence teams to support the development, validation, and research of network intrusion detection capabilities. Your work will contribute to enhancing threat detection signatures, researching emerging threats, and improving internal threat intelligence processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with threat researchers and security engineers to analyze network-based attacks and create detection logic.
- Perform packet-level analysis using PCAPs and tools such as Wireshark or Zeek.
- Assist in developing and testing detection signatures for IPS/NIDS systems.
- Participate in building internal tools for research workflow automation using Python.
- Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) gathering for emerging threats, IoCs, and TTPs.
- Prepare technical documentation, threat reports, and playbooks.
- Engage in technical discussions during all phases of threat research and signature development.
- Assist in simulating attack scenarios to validate detection capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated or in final year of Bachelor's or Master's degree (2024/2025) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or Cyber Security.
- Strong understanding of Computer Networking, TCP/IP Protocol Stack, OSI Model, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
- Familiarity with Cyber Threat Intelligence, MITRE ATT&CK framework, and common malware delivery methods.
- Proficiency in Python programming for automation and utility development.
- Comfortable working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of tools such as Wireshark, Suricata, Snort, and tcpdump is a plus.
- Coursework or experience in Network Security, Packet Analysis, or Cybersecurity preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong research aptitude.
Work Location
India – Flexible hybrid work model, with work from Bangalore office for 20 days per quarter.
