Graduate Trainee - Calix
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India
Employment Type: Full-time | 1-Year Apprenticeship Program
Calix is seeking enthusiastic Graduate Engineers to join our technical support and monitoring team. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering tools, development, and testing staff, to ensure seamless system operations and high availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 24x7 L1 technical support for applications, servers, virtual infrastructure, and network systems.
- Monitor alerts proactively using tools like Zabbix or SolarWinds, perform initial troubleshooting, and escalate issues as per SLA.
- Track and manage Jira tickets, ensuring timely acknowledgment and resolution.
- Monitor communication channels such as Slack and Teams for reactive issues and respond promptly.
- Participate in incident management processes, including detection, response, and resolution.
- Maintain detailed documentation of technical issues and their resolutions.
Required Technical Skills
- Server administration
- Operating systems: Windows, Linux
- Networking fundamentals: Routing, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- Basic understanding of application architectures (web, application, database)
Desired Technical Skills
- Scripting: Python, PowerShell, Bash
- Automation tools: Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, containerization)
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Eligibility
- Graduates from 2024 and 2025 batches
- Internship experience in system administration, technical support, or related fields is an advantage
