About the Role

Calix is looking for a highly motivated Graduate Trainee with a strong foundation in programming, particularly in the Java/J2EE stack. This internship offers the chance to gain hands-on experience working on impactful projects, enhancing both technical skills and business understanding.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to gather and analyze requirements.
• Assist in designing and developing scalable, reliable data pipelines.
• Work with big data tools and platforms including Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, AWS, and GCP.
• Clean, transform, and aggregate data from multiple sources into usable formats.
• Develop and maintain data processing pipelines for large datasets.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability issues.
• Document processes and procedures for internal teams.

Required Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Graduating in 2024 or 2025).
• Knowledge of data engineering concepts and tools such as Hadoop, Apache Spark, Presto, Dataflow, DataStream.
• Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and querying techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Scala, Java, or Python.
• Understanding of data warehousing solutions like Google BigQuery.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Basic understanding of computer programming concepts, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Effective communication skills for virtual environments.
