Graduate Apprentice Trainee Engineer - Volvo Construction Equipment
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India
Volvo Construction Equipment, part of the Volvo Group, is inviting applications for its Graduate Apprentice Trainee Engineer position under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS). This is a year-long apprenticeship designed for fresh engineering graduates to gain hands-on experience in software development, testing, and support for Volvo CE products such as wheel loaders, haulers, and excavators.
About the Program
The NATS Apprenticeship Program offers structured, on-the-job training, mentorship from experienced engineers, and opportunities to work on cutting-edge technologies in the transport and construction equipment domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications under senior guidance.
- Write, review, and debug code in programming languages such as Java, Python, C, or C++.
- Support feature implementation, bug fixing, and performance optimization.
- Participate in unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Document code, modules, and workflows according to standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders for smooth delivery of projects.
- Use version control systems like Git for code management.
- Track progress using project management tools such as JIRA.
- Attend technical and soft skills training sessions as per NATS and internal learning plans.
Required Qualifications
- BE/B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related engineering disciplines from an AICTE/UGC recognized institution.
- Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (Java, Python, C, C++).
- Understanding of the software development life cycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and tools in embedded systems.
- Good communication skills, positive attitude, and commitment to deadlines.
