The GKN Aerospace India Trainee Programme is a 15‑month development program designed to recruit and train engineering graduates through structured learning phases. Participants are encouraged to set personal goals and explore different areas within the business while receiving strong support from mentors and senior teams.
During the programme, trainees gain exposure to both technical and professional skill development. You will contribute to real-time projects that address real-world challenges and create measurable impact across the organization. The programme aligns individual capabilities with GKN Aerospace’s strategic and operational needs, supporting long-term career growth.
As a trainee, you will be encouraged to build strong interest in digital technologies and support digital transformation initiatives. This may include work in software development, testing, deployment, data analytics, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, machine vision, and large language models.
You will help design, develop, and implement digital solutions for aerospace processes across areas such as manufacturing engineering, technology and product development, purchasing, logistics, and quality functions. The objective is to gradually prepare you for future technical or leadership responsibilities.
The role requires taking ownership of personal and professional growth while collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders. Through mentoring, structured training, and project assignments, you will build relationships and maintain strong performance within your team and the wider organization.
You will support functional and operational teams on initiatives such as strategic transformation projects, Industry 4.0 implementation, and lean operating models. As you gain confidence and competence during the programme, you may begin managing parts of larger projects under the guidance of line managers or placement supervisors.
The specific responsibilities will evolve based on your developing skills, interests, and the needs of the business.
