Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Scientist Intern with strong statistical expertise to join our team in Gurgaon. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to analyze complex datasets, develop predictive models, and deliver actionable insights that support data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and apply statistical models to analyze business data.
- Design experiments, perform hypothesis testing, and interpret results.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to clean and process large datasets.
- Build predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
- Create clear and impactful data visualizations and reports.
- Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies to guide strategic decisions.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity in statistical analyses.
- Stay updated with emerging statistical tools and methods.
- Provide mentorship and guidance on statistical best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in R or Python for statistical programming.
- Strong understanding of regression, hypothesis testing, and probability theory.
- Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Data visualization skills using tools like Tableau, Power BI, ggplot2, or Matplotlib.
- Knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage time effectively.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field. 0-2 years of experience in data science, statistics, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Applied statistics experience in industries such as finance, healthcare, or retail.
- Knowledge of Bayesian statistics and advanced methods.
- Experience with unstructured data and text analysis.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
