Consultant Software Engineer at Principal | Hyderabad

About the Role

Principal is looking for a skilled Consultant - Software Engineer to join the engineering team in Hyderabad. The role involves working in a collaborative and performance driven environment to design and develop cloud based solutions. The position focuses on cloud platform engineering, DevOps practices, and hands on software development to build scalable and secure systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud native services and solutions using established engineering practices.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code for cloud platform engineering tasks.
• Create CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and release processes using tools like GitHub workflows and actions.
• Work with AWS Landing Zone to establish a secure and scalable multi account cloud environment.
• Configure and manage role based access control to maintain appropriate security and permissions.
• Develop reusable platform components, APIs, and developer tools that support automation and self service capabilities.
• Build pipelines to automate Landing Zone updates and infrastructure modifications.
• Define and implement security guardrails, baselines, service control policies, and compliance measures using AWS native services.
• Integrate AWS services and third party tools to create streamlined workflows and automation pipelines.

Process Adherence

• Follow PGS or BU specific SDLC and execution practices.
• Collaborate with the Delivery Manager for project reviews, action tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify delivery risks, dependencies, and take steps to address them during project execution.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Strong experience with programming languages such as Python (preferred) or TypeScript for cloud development and automation.
• Hands on experience with infrastructure automation tools including Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Solid understanding of designing secure, scalable, and cost efficient architectures in AWS.
• Experience with AWS Landing Zone and AWS Organizations for managing multi account environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and apply analytical thinking.
• Willingness to learn and implement new AWS services and emerging technologies quickly.
