CME Group is seeking motivated students for an internship opportunity in its Bangalore office. The internship offers hands‑on exposure to the Clearing and Post‑Trade division and allows participants to collaborate with experienced professionals working on technology and risk management solutions in global financial markets.

Internship Overview

This 2 to 3 month internship provides selected students with practical experience in the operations and technology supporting a financial exchange. Interns work on real business problems including risk management, revenue optimization, and operational efficiency while collaborating with mentors and experienced teams.

Key Activities

• Create tools or solutions that automate or streamline critical business processes.
• Assist the Quant Risk Team in building research and analytical tools for risk models and support regular reporting activities, including preparation of regulatory reports.
• Gain exposure to enterprise risk management and contribute recommendations for remediation or compensating controls.
• Work with the Pricing and Valuation team in the OTC settlements area and contribute ideas for next‑generation solutions.
• Learn CME product and service launch workflows and assist with automation of compression tools.
• Interact with teams across the organization and build professional relationships during the internship.
• Receive mentorship from experienced professionals and gain exposure to CME Group's working culture and technology environment.

Principal Accountability

• Complete assigned tasks on schedule while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Education

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a Bachelor's degree in Science with Mathematics or Statistics, or a Master's or PhD in a finance or mathematics related discipline.

Experience

Prior finance or accounting background is not required. Applicants should be comfortable working with numerical computations and demonstrate interest in financial services.

Technical Requirements

At least one programming skill from the following areas:

• Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, AngularJS, REST Web Services
• C#, C++, .NET, MVC
• Python, VBA, R
• Oracle or SQL Server databases

Additional Knowledge (Preferred)

• Applied mathematics, calculus, economic theory, or statistics.
• Exposure to financial engineering concepts.
• Understanding of algorithms, pseudocode, and database queries such as joins and views.

Internship Details

• Duration: April to June 2026.
• Work schedule: 40 hours per week.
• Work location: Onsite at the CME Group Bangalore office.
