Role Overview
Citi is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice to join the Personal Trading team. The role offers practical exposure to monitoring employee trading activities, supporting compliance operations, and helping ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
The 12-month Apprenticeship Program in India provides on-the-job training across Citi business groups including Banking, Markets, Services, Wealth, Operations, Technology, Internal Audit, HR, Risk, and Control.
Key Responsibilities
- Support monitoring of employee personal trading activities to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist with reviewing trading statements.
- Escalate trades or exceptions that were not pre-cleared to senior team members.
- Prepare reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
- Conduct basic data analysis to identify trends in trading activity.
- Support audits, regulatory requests, and internal reviews when required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Law, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of financial markets, instruments, and trading concepts.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity.

Additional Information
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree candidates are eligible.
- No prior work experience is required.
- Candidates should not have an ESIC/EPF account.
- Domestic relocation flexibility may be required.
- Shortlisted candidates must register through the government apprentice portal.
Preferred Exposure
- CFA, FRM, NISM, CPA, or CA certifications are considered beneficial but are not mandatory.
- Exposure to capital markets, securities regulations, or brokerage operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with equity, derivatives, and fixed income instruments is desirable.
